China Desk

Since 1991, BGPartner has maintained close contact with law firms in Hong Kong and China. With our new China Desk we provide our Swiss Clients all the relevant and necessaire support to enter into the Chinese market and support our Chinese Clients regarding the entrance into the Swiss market.

We have been handling projects and cases for Chinese clients in Switzerland and for Swiss clients in China for over 25 years. These projects include: 

  • major infrastructure projects in China; technical cooperation and financing; 
  • the incorporation of subsidiaries of Swiss companies in China;
  • the acquisition of Swiss companies and Swiss real estate projects for Chinese clients.

Michael Bader is leading our China Desk together with Jie Lin, who started her education at the University of Chongqing in China, has completed her Master of Law at the University of Berne and is living now in Switzerland for several years, and Juliane Hogrefe, Senior Associate. 

Together with our partner law firms in China and Hong Kong we are able to give our clients the best possible support in both countries.

Middle East Desk

BGPartner offers its clients a dedicated Middle East Desk. This includes Swiss companies intending to invest in the Middle East (incl. Saudi Arabia) as well as gulf region corporations and individuals connected to Switzerland in any form whatsoever. The latter entails high net worth individuals (HNWI) to whom we offer comprehensive services and support. The Middle East Desk is headed by Dr. Alain P. Röthlisberger, who worked in Saudi Arabia, with a significant experience an excellent network throughout the gulf region.

Our Middle East Desk is a one-stop shop covering all aspects, such as advice and support related to investments in the Middle East or Switzerland, due diligences, M&A transactions, set-up and incorporation of joint ventures and subsidiaries, drafting of cooperation agreements, translation of documents, handling of commercial disputes or application for work and residence permits.

We advise corporations (from small and medium enterprises to multi-national corporations) as well as high net worth individuals.
